There's a spider in my hair. From the corner of my eye I was
sure it was a shred of cotton but when I looked down its translucent body
was fluttering about my long dark tresses, playing with the strands as if they were silk.
Its sleek shape slipped between my fingers as I tried to snatch
it. My stomach churned. The chemistry lecture droned on. So I
ripped off a corner of my note page and chased the vermin until
the fragile thing was smothered into the black fuzz of my sweater...
Ah no! Spider
guts on my North Face?! That retched critter! I gazed down at the
teeny white legs curled into the piece of paper in my hand. What an abominable
deed I have done; I am a most careless human being.
