The Sympathetic Nature of Human Beings

There's a spider in my hair. From the corner of my eye I was sure it was a shred of cotton but when I looked down its translucent body was fluttering about my long dark tresses, playing with the strands as if they were silk.
Its sleek shape slipped between my fingers as I tried to snatch it. My stomach churned. The chemistry lecture droned on. So I ripped off a corner of my note page and chased the vermin until the fragile thing was smothered into the black fuzz of my sweater...
Ah no! Spider guts on my North Face?! That retched critter! I gazed down at the teeny white legs curled into the piece of paper in my hand. What an abominable deed I have done; I am a most careless human being.

Introducing Me

It's a Saturday night, the weather is nice and I sit here in a wonderfully cozy lake house thinking about what to write for my first post on my new blog. Should I start with a portrayal of the water at my feet, tranquilly ebbing the dark cavities between my toes; the soft waves flowing like a bed of dandelions ruffled by the swift breath of wind? Let's not go that deep. I mean, this is my first blog. I'll keep it simple and tell you a little about myself...

I am a college student. Major: English, Writer: Check. I love mystery thrillers, fantasy, and a good adventure story (especially all in one, the whole deal). I'll be posting samples of my writing here; as an encouragement to write more. Though a comment or opinion is much appreciated because I am still searching for my writing style. I'd like to hear what people enjoy most (or least) about it. Well that is me essentially, at least all you need to know for now! Until I write again...
